Taiwanese singer-actress Ella Chen recently announced to the public that she will be getting married to her Malaysian boyfriend in May. Yesterday, at a fashion showcase organised by ELLE magazine, the singer thanked everyone for their well wishes and added that she was still discussing the details of the wedding.
The media also quizzed Ella on how her boyfriend Alvin Lai proposed to her. The singer let on that he had proposed last year, when they were on vacation. She shared that Alvin gave her a photo album containing photos of their courtship. Each photo was accompanied by a caption. On the last page of the album were the words "Will you marry me?" The singer was so touched that she broke down in tears.
It is believed that Ella and Alvin will hold a wedding ceremony and banquet at Ella's hometown in Pingtung County on Apr 15. They will then fly to Malaysia for three other wedding banquets.
"Our wedding will be more traditional. It's most important to keep our parents happy, so we will hold the wedding according to our parents' wishes," Ella said.
When asked how many guests she will be inviting, the singer said that they have not decided. The couple is considering holding a simple wedding for relatives and close friends only. She also let on that she had not confirmed who her bridesmaids will be, but band mate Hebe Tien is definitely on the list. She will also try out various styles of wedding gowns, because marriage is a once- in-a-lifetime event.
When asked about having children, Ella shared that she learned that being pregnant isn't easy from talk host Dee Hsu, whose blog she follows. The singer was evasive when asked about her pregnancy plans and instead expressed her wish for Dee and her baby to be safe and sound.
