Christian Bautista and Karylle share experience in Asian TV series

 MANILA BULLETIN

Singers Christian Bautista and Karylle have been taping for their Asia-wide TV series, "The Kitchen Musical," in Singapore and they are happy to share their experiences so far.

“What makes it very exciting is that everyone adds to the show,” Christian mused
on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” June 30. “If you have [any] input [for] the show, you can share what you’ve experienced—it can be from you’ve learned in your past experiences in cooking, in acting, in singing—and help each other. Tulungan talaga and we’re just so happy that we’re part of it,” he expounded.

And while the cast members come from all over Asia, with “some Filipinos, some are Singaporeans,  Hong Kong nationals, Chinese and  Malaysian-English actors,” the romantic balladeer feels “we blend well together.”

In the TV series, Christian plays the role of Daniel, a sous chef and childhood friend to rich girl Madeline (Karylle), a fresh graduate from a culinary school who embarks on a journey of self discovery. “Parang hard work," Karylle said of her role, adding, "It’s everyday... our working hours are shorter... [but] ‘yung work load paiba-iba. Kunyari dancing in the morning, acting in the afternoon and then recording after... medyo nag-a-adjust ka dahil tuloy-tuloy,” she explained.

And as the show's title suggests, Karylle also had to make additional adjustments. "There’s school for me. I have to learn how to cook. I have to learn all the terms, all the French
dishes....” she shared.

The 13-episode “The Kitchen Musical” will be shown in 19 countries, including the Philippines. An original production by the Singapore-based The Group Entertainment, the series is set to pilot in the country in October.

Alex shares his love-life on Strong Heart

The ever-so-romantic singer and actor Alex (Clazziquai) guested on a recent broadcast of SBS "Strong Heart" and shared how he and his 9-year younger girlfriend Jo Hee became a couple.

Alex stated,
“We met during the drama ‘Pasta' when she was hired as one of the waitresses. I noticed her because of her simple style in jeans. I wanted to have memories of the drama, so I took a lot of photos, and when I checked later, there were 10 photos of her alone. That’s when I realized that I might have feelings for her.”
He continued,
“I asked her to come out to see the winter snow. Though Jo Hee said that she could only drink one bottle of soju, she ended up drinking more than five that night. The next day there was a party so I thought I should take my chances, and I asked her, ‘Do you want to be my girlfriend?’”
Aigooooo, so sweet! Alex has always been sweet though, and it did show when he was still doing "We Got Married" with Shin Ae. I even thought they'd end up together then. A perfect gentlemen. Who wouldn't want to date him? Geez. Anyway, I wish to see a happy ending here. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

"Rurouni Kenshin" live-action film adaptation confirmed

TOKYO:
A live-action film adaption of popular Japanese manga (graphic novel) "Ruruoni Kenshin", which stars Japanese actor Takeru Sato as the film's hero Kenshin Himura, will go into production in July, reported Japanese media.

"Ruruoni Kenshin" revolves around Himura, a master samurai who had slain countless men over the course of his career as the deadly assassin Hitokiri Battousai. He vows to stop killing after the Meiji Restoration, a series of events that restored imperial rule to Japan, leaving his life of bloodshed behind to lead the life of a wanderer who protects the weak with his skills.

"Everyone knows the character Kenshin in the original work. I think engaging acting is required. I will work with the production staff to create a Kenshin that stays true to the details [in the Manga]," said 22-year-old Sato, who is now undergoing swordsmanship training.

The creator of "Ruruoni Kenshin", 41-year-old manga artist Nobuhiro Watsuki, was happy that the role of Kenshin Himura went to Sato.

"When the project first began, I and my wife were discussing who should play Kenshin, and Takeru Sato was the first person who came to mind. So when it was confirmed [that Sato would play Himura], I was surprised but also very happy," said Watsuki.

The rest of the film's cast will be announced at a later date.

Warner Brothers will produce the film, which is scheduled for a 2012 release.

Sohee called Heechul on Youngstreet

Super Junior Kim Heechul is one lucky guy indeed!

On June 26th, during Heechul's last day as a DJ on Youngstreet radio, he got a surprise call from none other than Wonder Girl Sohee. As fans all know, he has been an extremely loyal fan of the Wonder Girls’ “mandu face” over the past few years, with fans affectionately calling them “Soheechul”.

Okay, so when Heechul realized it was Sohee on the other line, he was ecstatic. But 'cool' as he is, he then quickly calmed himself to ask her how she was. He was happy when Sohee complimented him by saying, “You’re such a talented and fun host, which is why I always have a great time listening to your show.” He then asked her what he meant to her, for which she answered , "an oppa whom I'm very thankful to".

Heechul also mentioned that J.Y. Park had greatly praised her when they had met for dinner the night before. “Whenever we meet, he always praises you. He also told me to stop bothering him." Heechul then added, " I'm very thankful to you, too. Whenever I'm irritated or in a bad mood and want to hit someone, I'll think of you and feel better." ^___^
He also once again proved himself to be a true fan of Sohee when he commented, “Tomorrow’s your birthday, right? Happy Birthday,” to which Sohee surprisingly replied, “Oh, yes it is! Thank you,” and played “Nobody” after her call.

Heechul still likes Sohee; Yong Hwa says he will never date Shin Hye

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul shows interest in Wonder Girl’s Sohee, as he was caught by a trap set by 2PM’s Taecyeon.

On the June 23rd broadcast of SBS’s radio program, “Kim Heechul’s Young Street“, Taecyeon bragged,  “Did you know that our song features Sohee?”, provoking Heechul’s curiosity.

Heechul then stated he needed to immediately hear the song, “Hands Up“, as he was curious about her lyrics. And because Taec was able to get a reaction like that from Heechul, the listeners’ overall reaction was that “Taecyeon is smart.” Shortly after, the radio program writers created a picture of them together and put it on the “Young Street” homepage, as if Heechul’s interest in Sohee was official.

In 2PM’s Hands Up, Sohee was featured as she sang “Oppa, can I trust you?”

CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa addressed the rumors going around him and actress Park Shin Hye!

On June 23rd, MBC “Heartstrings” held a press conference. At the press conference, Jung Yonghwa stated, “Like my drama character Lee Shin, I never fell in love with a teacher nor professor. However I did have a one-sided love with a person who was about the same age as me so I know how hard it is to have a one-sided love. In ‘You’re Beautiful’, I was the character of Kang Shin Woo who had a one-sided love. Whenever the scripts came out, I always became sad because Kang Shin Woo never revealed his heart and true feelings. However, my new character is bold and confident. That’s why I really like him.”

Jung Yonghwa denied the rumors about him and fellow cast mate Park Shin Hye being in a relationship stating, “Shin Hye is like one of our members. I highly doubt I will ever date her.”

Jerry Yan once contemplated matchmaking

SHANGHAI:
You'd think hunky Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan would have a ton of admirers but that is apparently not the case.

According to Chinese media reports, the 34-year-old heartthrob lamented that he has not had any romantic encounters, since he went on a year-long hiatus to recover from his gastritis. This troubling state of affairs led the dateless Yan to contemplate going on some matchmaking activities to find love.

"I've thought about it (matchmaking) before. To meet a girl that I don't know beforehand would be quite an interesting experience, but I have not had the chance to try it yet," said Yan, during a press event for his upcoming idol drama "My Wonderful Life" in Shanghai on Wednesday.

The former-F4 member explained that it would be rather difficult to for him to get into a relationship, as he does not know how to declare his love to a girl, and was clueless when it came to pleasing the ladies. Still, the eligible bachelor said he hopes to settle down and start a family in the future.

"I love children. It would be quite a heart-warming scene with me, a big boy holding the hands of a small boy... I will definitely be the father who 'bullies' his children," joked Yan.
