Azkal’s Phil Younghusband invites Angel Locsin for a valentine’s date on Twitter

Since KC Concepcion has been marked by Piolo as “taken” recently, Askal’s Phil Younghusband twitted his invitation for a Valentine’s date to his other crush!

Fresh from his team’s victory against Mongolia Blue Wolves yesterday that catapulted the term “Azkals” at the Top Trending Topics on Twitter, Phil Younghusband earned some guts to propose for a Valentine’s date to Philippine’s “sexiest” and “most beautiful” woman – Angel Locsin. This afternoon before his flight to Manila from Bacolod, Phil (@PhilYHusband) made a very “kilig” proposal to Angel (@143redangel) to be his date on February 14. Here’s what he said on twitter:

"Hi Angel! This Phil. How are you? I was just wondering if you are free for Valentines day?"

After a few minutes Angel also posted these message in her twitter account:

"Twitterworld, kalma!"

Then this message came after:

"hi! this is angel Congrats on your win last night! Tnx for the invite but I have work on valentines.. Let's try another day."

Angel’s twit indicates that she is open to the possibility of giving the hunk football player a chance to get to know each other better…and maybe more than friends perhaps? Fans are now calling them “PhilGel.”

Black Eyed Peas producer to help in new 2NE1 songs

Filipino-American Grammy nominee and Black Eyed Peas’ official DJ, Poet Name Life (real name Jaime Lim Munson) flew to Korea to help write and produce songs for K-pop girl group 2NE1.

Poet Name Life posted on a short bit on it on his Twitter account last Feb. 7. “Off to Korea with @boomnote josh one! Get ready for 2NE1!!!! Here we go!!!!” he tweeted. The next day, he tweeted that he has started recording at the YG Entertainment office in Seoul. “KOREA rules!!! Recording with @boomnote (dj josh one) at the YG fortress! Special thanks to 2NE1 and the YG family!,” he wrote.

Poet Name Life is the second member of the Black Eyed Peas family to help 2NE1 with their music. Last year, 2NE1 went to Los Angeles and London to work with Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am and recorded 10 English songs.

Last January, Will.I.Am tweeted that he was working on the 2NE1 album. “I can’t wait to finish the 2NE1 album. What we have so far is soo soo good,” he said.

The recordings are earmarked for 2NE1’s US debut although YG Entertainment has not announced when the girls will be hitting the American music scene.

Poet Name Life, a famous DJ, songwriter and producer who is closely associated with Black Eyed Peas, was nominated in the 52nd Grammy Awards last year together with Black Eyed Peas for the album "The E.N.D." The album included the song "Boom Boom Pow," which he co-produced.

Poet Name Life is the official DJ of the Black Eyed Peas and has joined the group on its tours. In an article last year about the DJ on Asian Journal, a Filipino-American community newspaper in the US, it was revealed that Poet Name Life’s family is composed of 10 brothers and sisters. He was also a schoolmate of Allan Pineda Lindo (apl.de.ap) and will.i.am.

He told Asian Journal, “My favorite country in the world is Japan. It’s so cutting edge, so different, and the scenery is great. My other favorite country is of course the Philippines. The first time I was there was in 2005. We performed in CCP, which was filled to the rafters. I loved it! But, of course, there’s no place like home- which is LA. It’s the coolest. My family is here and I’m a family person. I like big families,” he said.

Lee Hyori proves she's sexy!

Singer Lee Hyori has beat out one of the most recognizable Asian faces, Zhang Ziyi, to "officially" named the sexiest Asian star in the world.

Every year, a non-Korean website, top100sexiestwomen.com, ranks 100 of the world's most beautiful women. This year, Zhang Ziyi, who's not limited to her home country, but very active in Hollywood as well, ranked 33rd. Lee Hyori who's main focus is Korea, came in at number nine. This is quite a staggering feat as she has topped model Kate Moss (93rd), actress Anne Hatheway (66th), and even singing sensation Beyonce (12th)!

Other Korean faces who have made it onto the rankings include Jeon Ji-hyeon at 65th and BoA at 71st place. These three Korean celebrities along with Zhang Ziyi were the only Asian stars to have made the list.

As for the ultimate, sexiest woman in the world? 1st place went to Hollywood bombshell Megan Fox. Nevertheless, I will always go for Lee Hyori. She's beautiful inside and out, beyond reasonable doubt!

Super Junior is the most loved Korean boyband in Vietnam in 2010!

Super Junior isn't just the top boy band in Korea but they are also well loved all over Asia. Even though they have only made their appearance in Vietnam once, Super Junior has captured all the hearts of the Vietnamese teenagers. These handsome boys arrived in Vietnam in a TV show called MTV Exit (3/27/2010) and 25 thousands Vietnamese E.L.F were there at My Dinh Stadium. This has proved how strongly K-pop has influenced the Vietnamese community.

Recently, In a competition, "K-Pop Artist of the Year 2010", hosted by 360Kpop (the largest website created by Vietnamese fans that mainly focused on K-pop), Super Junior had stole the number one spotlight of many other famous korean bands and artists like SNSD, JYJ, Tae Yang (Big Bang), SHINee, etc. Thousands of Vietnamese E.L.F have worked hard to send out many text messages within a month (12/30/2010-1/31/2011) to help their idol win the competition. Not only that, all of Super Junior top hit of the year 2010 like Bonamana, No Other, etc became the most played on all of Vietnamese music websites.

With this result, Super Junior has become the most well loved Korean boyband in Vietnam and also won the hearts of a huge amount of enthusiastic Vietnamese fans. Vietnamese E.L.F are all waiting for the day Super Junior will return to Vietnam for the second time so they could once again express their love to their number one idol.

CNBLUE's Yonghwa reveals his ideal type

Okay, not so "new" KPop news. But i bet fans are probably still in high spirits about this so I might as well just post it. Haha! CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa recently participated in an interview back in Thailand and he revealed the qualities his ideal woman.

“I don’t have very specific requests or expectations about my ideal type,” he explained.

“First… I hope she is the type of woman who is pure, has a feminine personality, and is someone who is honest. Appearance-wise, I prefer girls with long hair. I also like the hair to be slightly wavy. As for height… I would hope that she is tall enough to be just above where my shoulders are. I like girls with clear and bright eyes…and someone who knows how to take care of herself .”

Hmm… this description sounds awfully similar… Perhaps he’s got a certain sweet potato lover from SNSD in mind?
