After School's E-Young is a 'band' herself

After School's newest member E-Young became the talk of the whole Korean entertainment biz late last year when she was introduced as an addition to the group while amazingly playing an electric guitar. Apparently, this young lady can NOT just only play the electric guitar. She can also very well play the piano, bass guitar, and drums. A true-blooded musician, indeed!

Oh well, I wasn't really interested with her until I saw her pre-debut and recent videos in YT showcasing her superb skills. Seriously, I am impressed with this talented lady very much, but being in After School doesn't really show her talent. She doesn't have to sing and dance if you ask me (no offense meant). Anyway, check out her videos below and see for yourself how E-Young can rock your world in a matter of minutes.

2NE1’s Dara sells 40k pink umbrellas in a week for “Etude House

Make-up brand “Etude House” has revealed that they’ve sold out 40,000 of their special pink bunny umbrellas in just one week, thanks to their endorsement model, 2NE1’s Dara!
Orders began pouring moments after pictures of Dara holding the umbrella were released.
The umbrellas were created with Dara’s rabbit nickname as the motif, and were sold for $2 USD if customers purchased over $20 worth of products.
‘Etude House’ revealed that Dara not only raised their sales, but even brought in a foreign consumer base. Tourists recently visited the store in Myungdong and bought the umbrella’s entire series of colors after seeing her picture.
Representatives commented, “We used Dara’s nickname of ‘Santokki’ as the idea for our sweet bunny umbrella. The response has been better than anything we ever expected, so we’re all very surprised.”

Jericho Rosales recalls first Hollywood experience

Actor Jericho Rosales is still reeling from the great memories of his first Hollywood red carpet for his first international film, “Subject: I Love You," which was premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival in California, USA.
“Basta 'pag apak ko doon sa red carpet... boom. Parang... buti nagbaon ako ng maraming English do’n kasi pagdating ko doon, kakaiba ‘yung experience, eh. ‘Pag apak mo doon in-introduce kayo, ‘yung mga actors, ‘di ba? And then ang daming photographers. They’re calling your name. 'Echo! Briana!'" Jericho recalled on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” May 4.
Subject: I Love You” is a romantic thriller about a Filipino-made virus that shocked the cyberspace back in 2002. Screening in the U.S., the experience for the actors was heightened with the overwhelming support they got. “Salamat po doon sa lahat ng mga Pilipino na nagpunta doon sa premiere namin," Jericho said. "Marami rin ‘yong mga Amerikano na nanood. Pati media, ‘yun exciting ‘yon... Nagpalakpakan din sa huli. Nagre-react sa mga eksena. Ibang klaseng experience ‘yon para sa akin.”
Singer Gary Valenciano, who played a minor part in the movie, affirmed the success of the premiere night of Echo’s movie. “Sold out ‘yung pelikula ni Echo. Among the 400 plus films, 'yun lang ang soldout. Tapos may second screening pa sa first day,” Gary said. He also shared details of their first Hollywood red carpet. “After the movie pa talagang may question and answer. Bumaba kami sa harap. ‘Yun na, may Q & A. Masaya kasi ‘yung mga tao feel na feel pa nila 'yung pelikula tapos they’re asking questions and they see the artists there,” the singer related.
While there, Echo came to know his leading lady Briana Evigan, who was cast in the "Step-Up 2: The Streets," better.  Dismissing any romantic liason with his leading lady, Echo shared, “Brianna has a boyfriend, eh, so wala naman talaga.” But he admitted, “Yes, may nakilala ako doon. Pero hindi, nothing romantic, romantic na gano’n.”
Describing Briana as “mabait... grabe, sobrang bait,” Echo is thankful for the Hollywood actress for taking care not only of him but his fellow Pinoy actors as well.
“Siya ‘yung nag-alaga sa akin, sa amin doon kasi first timer tayo. Pagdating sa red carpet, pagdating sa press, pagdating sa interviews, tinulungan niya kami. She made it easy for me. Siguro kung wala siya doon hindi rin ganoon kasaya 'yung experience namin,” he related.

Jerry Yan is a dream lover

He might not have any new projects for the past one and a half years, but Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan's fans have not forgotten about him.

The results from a recent poll proved so.

A few days ago, Jerry won the 'You watched every one of his drama; which actor is your dream lover?' poll with a total of 12,137 votes. Show Luo and Ming Dao were in second and third place, with 9,871 votes and 9,765 votes respectively.

When Jerry knew of his win, he thanked his fans for their support and even took the chance to promote good friend Vanness Wu's upcoming drama. "I'm most looking forward to Vanness's drama Material Queen this year," he said.

While Jerry had not been filming, the actor was frequently involved in many charity events and projects. Last Sunday, Jerry attended 'New Day New Hope', an event which sent love to Japan. At the event, Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami complimented Jerry for being tall and handsome. The next morning, Jerry visited babies born with rare diseases at the National Taiwan University Hospital, together with S.H.E member Ella Chen and singer Michael Wong.

Spotted with tears in his eyes at one point during the visit, Jerry said through his management agency, "I see resilience in these children, [they] are trying hard to breathe and live. [Looking at them], I feel that I'm really blessed. I need to work harder and live my life more responsibly."

In other related news, it was rumoured that Jerry would be shooting a Chinese movie A Parisian Girl's Adventure in Lhasa. However, the actor's management agency did not comment.

Brown Eyed Girls to make their comeback in June

It’s been almost two years since the Brown Eyed Girls released their hit tracks, ”Abracadabra” and “Sign“, and their fans are becoming impatient for news on their comeback.

Addressing the requests for updates, Nega Network replied, “The girls are working heavily on their album preparations at the moment. The earliest they’ll be making their comeback is around the end of June.”

Although they’ve had a long hiatus, the members have been busy with individual activities, like with Ga-In’s solo as well as her small screen activities with “We Got Married” and “All My Love.” Narsha also made a solo debut, while Jea and Miryo have been busy with photoshoots and track productions.

Nega Network continued, “It’s taking longer than we thought for their album. We’ve recorded over 15 tracks, but none of them came out the way we wanted them to, so we trashed everything. Even if their next album is delayed a bit, we’d rather fill it with tracks we’re satisfied with.”

They added, “It won’t be easy to overtake the fame of ‘Abracadabra’, but the members are determined to do better. We had no option but to give up everything they’ve recorded up to this point.”
