Super Junior confesses their thoughts on Kangin and Hankyung

The members of Super Junior made a recent appearance on MBC’s Chuseok special, “Radio Star Super Show,” and revealed their honest thoughts on the controversies surrounding Kangin and Hankyung (Hangeng).

Super Junior stated, “When Kangin first became involved in an assault case, we thought that we needed to shield him and protect him. Kangin showed that he was sorry to us and really did reflect that on his actions, but we couldn’t help but feel a sense of betrayal when one month later, he became involved in another drunk driving accident.”

They went on to state, “But we believed that we are all one, so we tried to protect him as much as possible. They say that time is medicine, and as time passed, our feelings softened up as well.

The members also confessed their feelings on fellow member Hankyung’s decision to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment.

We still can’t get in contact with Hankyung. We were all very close with him but we are unable to contact him separately. We honestly felt disappointed when reports said that his life in Korea was difficult and that the Super Junior members didn’t take care of him.”

Leader LeeTeuk continued, “It would’ve been nice if he discussed his problems with the members first because we honestly had no idea. None of us ever thought that Hankyung would act like that.”

The members all agreed by stating, “We still miss Hankyung right now.”

LeeTeuk concluded, “We leave an empty space for Hankyung. My one dream is to stand on stage with all 13 of us and perform before I leave for the army. I hope for it to happen.”

Lee Teuk still have some years left before the age limit (35) where Korean male citizens must serve a mandatory 2 years in the military. However, most celebrities tend to serve around the ages of 28-30, so they can still be relatively young and continue their careers when their tour of duty is over.

Netizens commented:

Whenever something bad happens, members are afraid to speak the truth on broadcasts. I like that they’re being honest.,” I miss Hankyung as well,” Super Junior shines the brightest when it’s 13.”

Jerry Yan hopes to be a FATHER

Jerry Yan
Taiwanese singer-actor shares joy in being a new uncle on blog
It seems like parental instincts are kicking in for Jerry Yan.

Obviously elated at being a new uncle to his sister's son, the singer recently posted photos of his one-month-old nephew on his official webpage - a rare move for the fiercely private celebrity.

Calling himself "Little Sunshine Uncle", the 33-year-old wrote: "I've been (feeling) good recently because I've become an uncle! Even though the entire family is at a loss with the current situation, our lives are filled with laughter because of this little new addition. There are new things (to talk about) every day, to think that taking care of kids can be so interesting and tiring! Everybody should be filial to your mother!"

The doting uncle and basketball enthusiast also added that he is looking forward to shooting hoops with his nephew. "I hope he grows up quickly so I can bring him to play basketball, but my sister said that I'm crazy."

Jerry added, "Little Uncle really hopes to bring you to play and to (let you) have a good look at this beautiful world!"
Having previously expressed his wish for a child during his drama collaboration with child star Xiao Xiao Bin, is Jerry desire's to be a daddy stronger now? To which, the singer responded through his manager, "

Charice enjoying the spotlight in the US

There is no stopping this Filipino singing dynamo!

First, Charice was spotted on the red carpet at the premiere party of “Glee” just last Sept. 7. Looking stunning in her black dress, purported cosmetic procedures fiasco far behind her, Charice seemed all set to play Sunshine Corazon— a Filipino exchange student sharing the halls of the fictional William McKinley High School with Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and company. As quoted on abs-cbnNEWS.com, Charice said, “I'm very, very happy that my character is Sunshine. Sunshine is very, very Charice, simple one, shy type.” Apparently, not only can Charice relate to her character well, she’s also beside herself in excitement as she looks forward to more showdowns with Lea’s character.

“We're like frenemies… I think that's the word. And we're gonna sing a very, very big song, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. It's ‘Telephone.’ So, it's gonna be amazing,” Charice continued.

Aside from her usual singing and dancing, the “Pryramid” hit-maker welcomes this new challenge as it has allowed her to do comedy acting for the first time. “And I’m really thankful that I’m part of ‘Glee.’ I’m learning so much things,” she was quoted on abs-cbnNEWS.com. And just like a lot celebrities, Charice took to Twitter to share how much fun she had at the celebration, posting: “I really had fun @ the Glee party. t'was great. Ms LeaMichele was amazing. goodnight everyone.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Apparently, Charice also makes an appearance on the national US magazine “Pop Star” for the third time. For those who aren’t able to secure a copy, Charice can be seen on page 78 in the magazine’s October 2010 issue, where our young international star is featured as part of a full-paged interview on friend Iyaz, entitled “Mr. Popularity.”

Charice’s site, www.charicemania.com, reports on Sept. 8 what Iyaz—noted guest on Charice’s hit “Pyramid”—has to say about her on “Pop Star”: “Her personality is crazy. She’s just like me – she loves to sing and she loves what she does. Her voice does not match her body. Her voice is like Mariah Carey, Beyonce. Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin all in, like, four feet! She is tiny, but she is a powerhouse. She’s awesome. She doesn’t speak much, but when she does it’s magic!”

On another note, Charice also landed the cover of the August 2010 issue of “Reader’s Digest” Asian Edition with the cover line, “The Making of a YouTube Sensation.” Aside from her #1 dance hit, Charice is, of course, now also widely credited for making Billboard history as the first Asian to have a Top 10 album on the prestigious US Billboard 200 Chart.

Dee Xu admits Barbie has better fashion sense

The sister-pair Barbie Xu (Da S) and Dee Xu (Xiao S) are on the cover of Vogue’s September issue.

The ever stylish Barbie expressed that she is the most fashionable female star in the Chinese entertainment industry. Although Dee agrees that Barbie has better fashion sense than she does, she reasoned, “People with a big chest are kept farther away from fashion. Fashion is for those with a flat chest.” Barbie immediately responded, “She’s talking about me.”

Dee pointed out that Barbie is always staying on top of fashion. She revealed that a few years ago when they went shopping in Japan, Barbie wanted to look for Balmain. However, Dee mistaken the brand name as ‘cousin’ (‘Biao Mei’), and embarrassingly asked Barbie, “Where’s our cousin?” Dee explained, “At the time, everyone hadn’t gotten familiar with the brand yet, but she already knew about it!”

When asked which aspect they like about each other? Barbie complimented her sister as "someone whom everybody likes." Regardless if it’s a senior, a friend, or a neighbor, Dee is always able to get along with everybody. Dee on the other hand, complimented Barbie for having "the power to persuade." Whether it’s regarding work or shopping, Barbie is always able to help Dee in decision making, “Her words have a kind of firmness that can help me settle (with a final decision).”

Barbie and Dee are the spokespersons for 2010 Vogue’s Fashion's Night Out. They will be appearing at three SOGO (department store) locations on September 11 to promote the event.
