Charice enjoying the spotlight in the US

There is no stopping this Filipino singing dynamo!

First, Charice was spotted on the red carpet at the premiere party of “Glee” just last Sept. 7. Looking stunning in her black dress, purported cosmetic procedures fiasco far behind her, Charice seemed all set to play Sunshine Corazon— a Filipino exchange student sharing the halls of the fictional William McKinley High School with Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and company. As quoted on abs-cbnNEWS.com, Charice said, “I'm very, very happy that my character is Sunshine. Sunshine is very, very Charice, simple one, shy type.” Apparently, not only can Charice relate to her character well, she’s also beside herself in excitement as she looks forward to more showdowns with Lea’s character.

“We're like frenemies… I think that's the word. And we're gonna sing a very, very big song, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. It's ‘Telephone.’ So, it's gonna be amazing,” Charice continued.

Aside from her usual singing and dancing, the “Pryramid” hit-maker welcomes this new challenge as it has allowed her to do comedy acting for the first time. “And I’m really thankful that I’m part of ‘Glee.’ I’m learning so much things,” she was quoted on abs-cbnNEWS.com. And just like a lot celebrities, Charice took to Twitter to share how much fun she had at the celebration, posting: “I really had fun @ the Glee party. t'was great. Ms LeaMichele was amazing. goodnight everyone.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Apparently, Charice also makes an appearance on the national US magazine “Pop Star” for the third time. For those who aren’t able to secure a copy, Charice can be seen on page 78 in the magazine’s October 2010 issue, where our young international star is featured as part of a full-paged interview on friend Iyaz, entitled “Mr. Popularity.”

Charice’s site, www.charicemania.com, reports on Sept. 8 what Iyaz—noted guest on Charice’s hit “Pyramid”—has to say about her on “Pop Star”: “Her personality is crazy. She’s just like me – she loves to sing and she loves what she does. Her voice does not match her body. Her voice is like Mariah Carey, Beyonce. Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin all in, like, four feet! She is tiny, but she is a powerhouse. She’s awesome. She doesn’t speak much, but when she does it’s magic!”

On another note, Charice also landed the cover of the August 2010 issue of “Reader’s Digest” Asian Edition with the cover line, “The Making of a YouTube Sensation.” Aside from her #1 dance hit, Charice is, of course, now also widely credited for making Billboard history as the first Asian to have a Top 10 album on the prestigious US Billboard 200 Chart.
