Marie Digby joins "ASAP Rocks"; talks about Sam Milby

Singer-guitarist Marie Digby has signed for an album with Star Records and for regular perfomances on "ASAP Rocks."

She, however, is unsure if she wants to go into acting, too. “I don’t know if I can act,” said she to abscbnnews.com. Among local acts that she wants to work with is her close friend Sam Milby with whom Digby wants to duet. She also disclosed an ardent interest in singing with KC Concepcion, whom she met during a recent interview on “The Buzz.”

In that interview, Digby expressed her intention to alleviate the sufferings of those affected by the recent tragedy that struck her homeland, Japan. She hopes to help raise funds for the victims by holding charitable events.

“People are in dire need: they need food, they need shelter, they need water, they need gasoline and other things,” said she. “[And] I’m gonna do whatever I can to give back, to help [them] through my music. Maybe record an album and do concerts [to raise funds].”

Meanwhile, past reports claim that Marie and Sam shared a long-distance relationship after the latter’s breakup with Anne Curtis. But the “relationship” didn’t prosper as the two singers decided to be just friends.

Marie, in an interview with PEP, cited distance as the reason her supposed romance with Sam Milby didn’t blossom. “Distance is the most obvious factor. We live in two different countries and it’s hard for anything to grow when you don’t see each other. Sam is very special to me because he doesn't even realize how special he is. I think he’s very modest. He doesn't realize that he’s got that ‘it’ factor and he’s charming. He walks into a room and people would go crazy and he doesn't even realize that. That’s what makes him special,” Marie related.

The “Say It Again” singer admitted that she and Sam, who are both single, still communicate with each other. Marie also admitted that Sam is aware of her vacation in the country for a few months.

“Yes, he’s aware I’m here, [although it was] hard to get in touch with him because communication lines bogged down when I left Japan. We don’t really get into details about our work, but I’m sure he knows that I’m coming to the Philippines. Even if I don’t have too many details about it, I was just kinda going day by day with the schedule,” the 28-year-old star said.

“Sam is very supportive of my career and it’s really nice to have people I know here. It’s a foreign country and I don’t speak Tagalog unfortunately, so it’s nice to know people here and he can help me out.”

Nina attends Pattaya International Music Festival

Reaching another milestone in her career is Philippines' soul siren Nina, who performed with other Asian stars at the recently concluded Pattaya International Music Festival held in Thailand.

According to Nina, the experience was quite a thrill given the kind of reception she got from the audeince and the treatment she was accorded by the festival organizers. Nina was the only Filipino invited to perform in the three-day event.

"Sobrang sarap ng experience,” said she in an interview with abscbnnews.com.

Other artists who joined the festivities included Singapore’s Derrick Hoh, Japan’s Golf-Mike, Ice-Saranyu, Chin-Chinnawut and Hanuman Bang, Malaysia’s Will Ng, Vietnam’s PAK, Laos’ Tik Princess and Indonesia’s Super Kidz. Korean popstar Ji-Hoon, known internationally as Rain, also attended the festival.

Nina waxed ecstatic for having hobnobbed with the Asian stars. “Ang dami ko ring nakilalang artist," said she in the same interview, explaining how she was able to bond with them as they toured the kingdom. “Hindi ka malulungkot kasi sama-sama kayo to explore Thailand."

But what Nina enjoyed most was performing with them on the same stage. "Sarap ng feeling to share the same stage where [artists like] Rain performed, and a lot of artists na sobrang sikat din sa kanilang countries like Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia.”

Nina sang three songs in the event, including her big hit "Someday." For her participation in the festival, Nina received the “Golden key to the City of Pattaya."

Hallyu idol and Super Junior leader Leeteuk revealed his feelings about former member Hangeng in behalf of the whole team.

Recently, Hangeng held a press conference in Hong Kong to promote his new movie, “Daemusaeng“. During the interview, a reporter asked, “Not long ago, a member of Super Junior was hit and injured by a water bottle during a performance in Shanghai. Did you hear about this?”

Hangeng replied, “I didn’t know. I should call and make sure he is okay.” However, he quickly added,“Actually, I did attempt several times to get in contact… but they ignored my calls,”shocking the public with his controversial answer.

On March 21st, Lee Teuk shared his thoughts about the situation through his Twitter. He tweeted, “The door is always open. There is always an empty seat left for you.” He added, “It would be nice if you told the truth. We have never let go of your hand. I don’t want to be sad because of lies anymore. We are Super Junior!! Still, I wish you happiness,” showing his disappointment towards the situation.

Netizens commented, “I feel so sad for Super Junior”, “Definitely leader-like. Very cool”,and“Hangeng…He’s doing well.”

[Update]

We’ve received reports that the Korean media had mistranslated Hangeng’s comments. Leeteuk’s comments, therefore, were a response to the incorrect content.

Hangeng’s original comments were: “Last time, I also had the experience of objects being thrown on stage. Luckily, it did not hit me. But now, it doesn’t matter anymore.”

The interviewer asked: “So would you give him a call and ask how he is later on?” Hangeng replied, “I will definitely call and ask. Why was he so careless, getting himself hit [by something] by other people.

Original video can be viewed here. Thank you to everyone who sent in their concerns.

Ken Zhu: How many times do I have to send her my blessings?

Ken Zhu 01

Taiwanese actor Ken Zhu comments on rumours of his ex-flame getting married.

Last month, the Taiwanese media reported that actress Kelly Lin would be marrying a businessman from Shanghai. On Mar 15, at the lensing ceremony for his latest drama Remember, About Us, reporters quizzed Kelly's ex, Ken Zhu, on the former's marriage rumours. To that, Ken expressed that he knew nothing of it, adding that "it'd be stupid to ask her if the rumour is not true".

When asked if he would be surprised if Kelly suddenly got married, the actor instead questioned the reporters why should he be. "If she does not get married, how many times do I have to send her my blessings each year?" Ken said helplessly when reporters asked if he would send his regards.

Ken later added that he would definitely "wish her all the best if she's getting married".

It is believed that Ken and Kelly dated for five years before splitting last June. At the ceremony, the actor seemed to have lost a lot of weight, but he denied it was because of the breakup. Ken clarified that he is still good friends with Kelly and that they are still in contact with each other.

Thunder wants to get married to Sohee

MBLAQ Thunder recently reveals his thoughts about wanting to join MBCs popular reality show "We Got Married".

Thunder reveals that if ever he has a chance on joining the program, he wanted to be paired up with Wonder Girls Sohee. He said “I think it’d be extremely fun being on ‘We Got Married.’ I’ have always thought about wanting to go on it every time I watch it. Although I don't see Sohee often, I really would like to go on the program with her."

The other MBLAQ members also added that they really liked the Adam Couple [who just exited the show to pursue their individual careers] because both of them were natural. The members even exclaimed that they are fans of the show.

Now the question is, if ever Thunder's wish was granted, will the fans support it? They (fans) can be pretty crazy sometimes. And I wonder what elder sister Dara, who also once mentioned that she's a fan of the show, says about it. Hmmm...
