Sid Lucero, ‘Dahil May Isang Ikaw’ are 2010 International Emmy Award Nominees

Sid Lucero is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" in the 2010 International Emmy Awards.

The Philippines once again captured the prestigious International Emmy nods courtesy of Sid Lucero (Timothy Mark Pimentel Eigenmann) and his teleserye “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.” The 38th International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its list of nominees from around the world (except the US), and Sid Lucero is nominated for the Best Actor category while his teleserye “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” is nominated for Best Telenovela category.

Sid is vying for the coveted trophy against Bob Hoskins (The Street – United Kingdom), Sebastian Koch (Sea Wolf – Germany), and Leonardo Sbaraglia (Epitafios – Argentina).

Dahil May Isang Ikaw, on the other hand, is competing against two other telenovelas: Ciega a Citas from Argentina and My Love from Portugal. The winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on November 22, 2010 in New York, to hosted by Beverly Hills 90210 actor Jason Priestly.

Last year, the Philippines got three nominations: Best Actress for Angel Locsin for her performance in Lobo, Best Telenovela for GMA-7′s Magdusa Ka and ABS-CBN’s Kahit Isang Saglit.

No Filipino actor or tv program has won an International Emmy to date.
