The Rock, a fan of the Pacman

Actor and former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently showed the Pacman some love when he expressed his respect and admiration for the Pinoy pugilist, calling Manny Pacquiao the “greatest” in the sport.

With the declaration, Johnson joins a long line of Hollywood stars who have publicly claimed support for Pacquiao, including Steven Seagal, Mark Wahlberg, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Baldwin, Jeremy Piven, Denzel Washington, Jay-Z, Jessica Alba and Paris Hilton, among others. But Johnson didn’t stop there. Apart from Pacquiao, he went on to laud another Filipino, actress Vanessa Hudgens, with whom he co-stars in “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” and the latter’s mother.

[Vanessa] was a pleasure to work with, she's great. I met her family, her mom is wonderful, [a] proud Filipino woman,” Johnson said.

According to Johnson, both Pacquiao and Hudgens exemplify Filipino humility.

The best thing I love about [Pacquiao] and Vanessa, Vanessa's family, [and the] Filipino culture…and I’ve worked and performed in the Philippines many times… is the humility that permeates the Filipino culture,” he said.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” recently premiered in Taipei, Taiwan and will be shown in the country in February.
